Isobel Warmelink is a young Dutch-English violinist, born in Rotterdam. In January 2022 she won the first prize at the National Violin Competition ‘Oskar Back’ in Utrecht. In the finals she made an impression with a sparkling Rondo by Mozart and a touching interpretation of Alban Berg’s Violin Concerto, accompanied by the Residentie Orkest. De jury praised her for her passionate playing and fantastic interaction with the orchestra.
Isobel performed as a soloist with orchestras such as Sinfonia Rotterdam, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and the Símon Bolívar Orchestra of Venezuela. Furthermore she regularly gives solo recitals and chamber music concerts. In 2022 Isobel is a guest at the Schiermonnikoog Festival, Wonderfeel and the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, among others.
At the moment Isobel studies at the Mozarteum University I’m Salzburg with Prof. Lukas Hagen, the first violinist of the famous Hagen Quartet. She previously studied at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague with Koosje van Haeringen and Vera Beths. In the season of 2018-2019 Isobel was an academist at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.
